Frigatebirds are best known for the bright red gular sacs that the males inflate to the size of a football when courting females. Frigatebirds have the largest wingspan to weight ratio of any species of bird at 2 1/2 meters. They are skilled fliers who must
swoop to within a foot of the water to pluck prey. Only its beak must touch the water to prevent wetting its plumage and drowning. Therefore their choice method of feeding is piracy, involving stealing food from other seabirds. I observed many bully tactics as frigatebirds chased boobies and tropicbirds pulling out their wing and tail feathers in mid-air forcing them to disgorge their food.
