‘’DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS’’ by Chris Navarro H – 15’’ L- 12’’ W – 9’’ ‘bronze sculpture. I show a cowboy with a hard-determined look on his face wearing a duster, armed with a pistol and rifle leaning against the state silhouette of the map of Texas. The base of the sculpture is in the shape of a lone star and the title says it all. Because when creating art, I want to tell a great story with my sculptures. I want my titles to help enhance the story of the sculpture. There are times when I come up with my titles first. Then create the sculpture to interpret the title. I believe a title is just another good tool to help enhance the story like using good composition design movement and line.
