This painting lay unfinshed as a color study for many years before l felt l had the skills to capture the magic glow of back light coming through the grape leaves. l'm glad l waited because l feel l captured that golden hour just the way l wanted. The piece itself didn't fully come together until the blue of the Jays and the grapes were added. This gave the final color pop it needed. Unfortunately this painting is marked NFS as it was badly damaged in my studio fire and was not salvageable.
