Biography

I just love nature.  Mostly I love the growth patterns of plants and the enticing beautiful flowers.  I live in such a great place, the Sonoran Desert.  Can I share my joy at this beauty with you?  Look at the lush petals with such a subtle coloring.  See the bird who is enjoying life in the desert?  It makes my heart sing to experience this beauty around us.  As an artist I choose which subjects interest me and I choose how to display them on the paper.  I get excited as my painting starts to become almost real to me.  I hope that my choices inspire and excite you.   As a Signature member of Artists for Conservation, Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild, a juried member of Arizona Watercolor Association, and a member of National Watercolor Society, I’ve won several awards and take commissions.

I’ve worked as a nurse, in hospital software, always with art as a side interest.  I’d call myself a botanist, an experienced birdwatcher, and a now an artist.

Support for Conservation:

Local non-profit native plant organizations receive my donations of originals and prints for their silent auctions. Native plant awareness is a primary goal in my volunteer docent work at Tohono Chul, a nature preserve.
