Santa Catalina Island, in the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez), is one of my favorite Islands in the Gulf.  I find its landscape absolutely stunning!  The endemic barrel cactus (Ferocactus diguetii) to the Gulf of California islands, that grows up to 4 meters tall, and up to1 meter in diameter, grows the tallest on this island.

Isla Catalina has 10 species of reptiles, including 7 endemic species.  This island is part of the Loreto Bay National Park.

The brown pelicans frequently fly by our boat as we cruise along.

"Isla Santa Catalina"
