I watch pelicans a lot when we are in San Carlos, Sonora.  I find them very interesting.  This scene comes from a morning in the bay of Julio Villa, (north of San Carlos, on the cost of Sonora) where we had anchored for the night during one of our boat trips.  Something was chasing the halfbeaks and was making them jump out of the water.  There was a lot of activity in the water that morning and the pelicans were taking advantage of this. They had a feast!

This painting was acquired by the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum to be part of their teaching private collection “Vanishing Circles”.

“El Festín”

Observo mucho a los pelícanos cuando estamos en San Carlos, Sonora.  Pienso que son muy interesantes.  Esta escena es de una mañana en la bahía de Julio Villa (al norte de San Carlos, en la costa de Sonora) donde nos habíamos anclado para pasar la noche en uno de nuestros viajes en el barco.  Algo andaba persiguiendo a los medio-pico (balaos) y los estaba haciendo que saltaran fuera del agua.  Había mucha actividad en el agua esa mañana y los pelícanos estaban tomando ventaja de esto.  ¡Tuvieron un festín!

Esta pintura fue adquirida por el Museo del Desierto Arizona-Sonora para formar parte de su colección privada educacional “Vanishing Circles” (Círculos Desvaneciéndose).
