Warp Speed

Pied kingfishers are well-known for their brilliant black-and-white design, their size, and also for the ability to hover in midair. Once this bird targets a likely lunch, it plunges like a rocket into the water. As an artist, one of the things I like most is the way kingfishers race at high speed just a wing's length above the surface of a pond or stream, with their wingtips occasionally cutting the surface.
