The Imperial Amazon Parrot lives up to its name. This regal and largest of the genus Amazona is endemic to the tiny island of Dominica. The 2017 Hurricane Maria demolished the island, and took the Sisserou to the brink of extinction: less than 12 birds are known to have survived.
