Join me on an Art Safari in Timbavati, South Africa to see and sketch Africa's amazing wildlife! The safaris are suitable for all skill levels and will teach you to sketch wildlife quickly and confidently. There are only 5 guests on each safari and non-sketching friends or partners are welcome.
On an Art Safari, we sketch from an open safari vehicle, giving you unrestricted views of the numerous wildlife species. I sit in the middle row so I can easily talk to everyone and give sketching advice. Drives take place in the early morning and late afternoon, optimal times for seeing wildlife, and they last approximately two and a half to three hours each, with a stop for refreshments.
After brunch back at the lodge, I lead art workshops covering a variety of topics including how to add watercolor to pencil sketches or how to use your sketches as the basis for studio paintings. Everyone works on their own choice of subject and at their own pace and the workshops last 2 hours, giving you time to relax before our afternoon/evening drive.
