This painting was created after my visits to the African People & Wildlife conservaiton organization in Tanzania. I began abstracting the wrinkes of the elephant's skin and when it was finished I realized that the patterns were probably a result of the sketches I had created of the patterned shukas (clothing) worn by the Maasai in the area.
