I felt captivated to watch the feathered gemstones, when I observed the mid-air dance of the hummingbirds in Costa Rica for the first time.

On of these flying ballerinas caught my attention with a brilliant violet shine of the plumage in contrast to its flashy white tail corners. I wanted to portray the aerie elegance of a flying Violet Sabrewing in an oil painting.
