The Beehive
Honey-bees have been domesticated for thousands of years by humans. The fate and genetical vitality of a once wild species and important pollinator lies completely in our hands. In rural, extensively managed agricultural areas of Switzerland the tradition of former times still lives one in consistence with nature and surrounding ecosystem. During summer time the air is filled with busy buzzing honey-bees commuting in and out the traditionally crafted bee-hives. The scenery of this particular hive I found in our region reminds me of an abstract trompe l'oeil with primary and secondary colors. What else could an artist ask for?
