This beautiful bird is Native to Eastern Africa but can be found around the world in large numbers. I was at the San Diego Zoo in an aviary when I looked up and spotted this colorful bird. I love the way light plays through the palm fronds creating a somewhat abstract background that is still truly natural. I thought the best medium to use to show transparency was watercolors.
