New Mexican Holdout
My having traveled to New Mexico was very inspiring indeed. The terrain was so completely different than what I was used to in my state of Tennessee. I was in Albuquerque working with the Bio Park Zoo when I learned of their involvement with the Mexican Gray Wolf and their vanishing numbers. Often mistaken for coyotee, the endangered Mexican Gray Wolves are often shot by ranchers who do knot know the difference between the two similar species. In the painting "Laying Low", I wanted to portray a Mexican Gray Wolf just chilling in his beautiful Southwestern territory that I was so impressed by on my visit .
