This painting was commissioned by a couple who have been collectors of my work. They asked for a vertical composition showcasing a common loon noting I had created a loon series. The loon series was based on my children's book "Larry the Loon" by Judith McMurray. Larry the Loon brought the plight of the common loon on our lakes to the attention of the public.
