The largest piece in Nick's "Into the Blue" series so far , inspired by watching juvenile Bklacktip sharks parting the shoals of baitfish as the pass through . " I have always been fascinated by the beauty of clear waters and the marine life hovering almost as if in flight within , and so started my Into the Blue series of paintings . I use multiple layers of resin and metal leaf together with acrylic paints and tints to give a very three dimensional feel to the painting while also allowing it to sparkle and shine like the sea - i want the viewer to think they can reach in and pick up the subject !
