Artist's Inspiration & Background

"I have always been deeply drawn to the quiet moments of fierce animals—capturing the contrast of immense power held in perfect stillness. My lifelong love of the wild stems from a childhood spent entirely outdoors, growing up in the woods, building tree forts, and playing in streams. Having spent 29 years as an art teacher and a dedicated pastel painter, this piece represents a culmination of that enduring bond with nature and nearly three decades of mastering the textures, light, and depth that the pastel medium allows."
