Biography

Based in New Jersey, Laurie Kulick creates evocative, hyper-realistic wildlife art backed by more than three decades of focused studio experience. Specializing in the rich and demanding medium of soft pastels, Kulick’s technique relies on building dense, smooth layers that give her animal portraits a tangible, lifelike presence. Her compositions favor dramatic, atmospheric lighting and tight framing, pushing the distinct personality and intelligence of each wild subject to the forefront. A passionate fine artist and an art educator for 29 years, her prolonged commitment to capturing precise anatomical details reflects a lifelong devotion to animal advocacy. As an Associate Member of Artists for Conservation, Kulick beautifully bridges her extensive teaching legacy with conservation activism, producing museum-quality work that honors the intrinsic value and vulnerability of wild species.
My dedication to these animals extends far beyond the edges of my easel. To directly support the creatures that inspire my studio practice, I donate 5% of my art sales to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Through my role as an Associate Member of Artists for Conservation, it is my hope that this artwork inspires viewers to look closer, connect deeply, and join in the vital mission to protect our planet's most vulnerable species."
