A powerful, graceful presence and watchful eyes.

This barn owl was a privilege to illustrate in soft pastels. I’m drawn to owls because of their stillness, their authority, and the way they move through the world without announcing themselves.

When I worked on this piece, my goal wasn’t just realism — it was respect.

I wanted to honour their presence and capture the intensity of a creature that sees everything long before we notice it.

My work is about creating a moment of connection with wildlife, a pause where you feel the animal’s presence.
