This is a scout project supported by a grant from the Asociacion de Scouts de Venezuela. The conservation organization that is sponsoring and lending guidance is a Guanare non-government conservation organization, Asociacion Civil Jabiru. The activities are focused on community education and training young people to scientifically identify and record birds using binoculars, guides, and birding apps. The hope is that people who understand birds will grow to love them and want to protect them and the habitat they need. It is a hope that wildlife species and their habitat can be protected before they are endangered.
