This toad painting is one of the original illustratins for my new book The Snake and the Salamander Reptiles and Amphibians from Maine to Virginia  (https://jhupbooks.press.jhu.edu/content/snake-and-salamander ) which highlights 83 different species.  One of our goals with this book is to hopefully help readers develop an interest in these animals and research them more.  More education will hopefully lead to conservation of these beautiful and amazing species.
