"I have always felt a deep connection to wildlife and wild places. That relationship comes out in my paintings. I try to portray the calmness and serenity in the images I paint and bring the viewer into the painting and one with the animal. To feel their presence as much as feel the cool air or the hot sun of the surroundings.
As humans, and our ability to make survival almost effortless with technology and evolution, I think we have strayed from our wild roots. After all, we too are mammals like the wolf, bear or lion. We need to get back that connection. To work as one with the planet instead of exploiting it for our own gain. Life is so much more rewarding and satisfying when we do things for ourselves by tapping into those instincts that nature gave us
