The Artist
"From a young age I have always been creative, making my way through Interdisciplinary studies at SFU to become a contemporary dance choreographer, Jumpstart company soloist, multi-media & stage artist. I was used to presenting a conceptual idea to an audience --Through an encounter with a talented carver on a wooded trail I was introduced to cottonwood bark, and after accumulating a full array of knives, gouges, and chisels I am able to release & capture the stories and images residing in the wood. I feel nature is revolting and calling out - as an artist I want to give nature a voice, a stage, and share the vision of such encounters.
