Inspired by the glorious reflections of a sunset on the ocean, “Sunkissed” is an impressionistic textured mixed media painting with a rich warm earthy palette. 

Several layers of paint, natural pigments, sand and gold ink were used to create the unusual textures and a 3-D effect, blurring the line between painting and sculpture, and inviting the viewer to touch it. I use both my scientific and artistic backgrounds to communicate environmental issues and to invite dialogue and discussion. The ethereal imagined landscape of “Sunkissed” was intentionally created to raise awareness of the effect of rising temperatures due to climate change resulting in global warming.

The painting is framed with a gallery quality black metal floating frame.
