It was inspired by the shimmery quality of light on ripples of water during a  colourful sunset. Using metallic foil, metallic paints and inks together with a limited earthy palette, the aim is to awaken the viewer’s consciousness allowing them to experience the painting-perhaps sparking memories or freeing the mind to wander, imagine and dream. Each bit of texture is like a wave on a gentle sea, with the warm sun kissing our skin. It is a calm breath and moment of peace we all can share whenever we need to reflect and press pause.

 I have developed a personalized style that translates and interprets nature through highly textured, luminous and transparent layers created with the manipulation of mediums. My art is a transformative interpretation rather than a literal rendering to elicit an emotional response. To experience this fully, the viewer must enter the multiple layers, shades and textures of my work, and be seduced into a visual, tactile encounter a connection between the artist and the viewer.
