Artist Karen Hudgin
Growing up in a small town, Huntsville Ontario in the heart of Muskoka, Karen developed her love of nature, animals, and creativity. Karen now has a studio located at Clearwater Lake, this location allows her and her husband the opportunity to photograph and enjoy wildlife. Karens pursuit of wildlife and nature has taken across most of the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Many of the reference photos Karen uses for her paintings are from these trips. Karen loves wildlife of any kind and has rescued and helped many injured and sick animals. Working with animals is this artist’s passion. Karen has supplied wildlife artwork to Shades of Hope animal rescue and Speaking of Wildlife animal education centre as well as prizes in many events.
Karen is a member of the Decorative Arts Society, Colored Pencil Society of America, Washago Art Club, Delray Art League and Artist for Conservation.
Karen started displaying her Wildlife artwork while wintering in Florida. In 2016, her first ever showing, she placed first in a juried showing in Ocean Ridge Fl. Her art has also been admired hanging along Muskoka Street in Washago Ontario every summer since 2016.
