"My goal is to share the beauty of the wetlands and diverse ecosystem in the areas surrounding Lake Huron, and the birds that abound in this relatively untouched habitat. Each painting begins with a trip into the field, observing and photographing these beautiful avians. In the studio, using a natural palette, my paintings show the changing light and colors that occur near the shores of the great lake, and the lovely markings and colors of the birds native to this region. My art is designed to help the viewer feel they have gotten a glimpse into the life of a bird for that moment in time, and to bring the same joy that I feel when I am there.  "

I love birds, and my paintings reflect this love through color, light and depiction of them in their native habitat. This summer, I am working on waterbirds seen on the shores of Lake Huron in northeast Michigan.
