Spence is an associate member of the Artists for Conservation organization.  He is also a member and volunteer with the Evergreen Audubon Society, where he has helped school children discover wildlife through experiential games, hide and track identification, and wildlife habitat and  behaviors education and exploration.  Spence is a Colorado licensed landscape architect and has run his practice, 5Design, Inc., for over thirty years focusing on sustainable native Colorado landscapes and preservation and conservation of native places.  A portion of all art sales Spence makes goes to the Wild Anamal Sanctuary in Keensburg, Colorado.  www.WildAnimalSancturary.org.  Spence's web site is www.ColoradoSketchbook.com.
