Martyn had always wanted to carve a Gyrfalcon, they are such magnificent birds of prey which he has always admired, so when a private collector of his works came to him and asked for a commission of one he was honoured. The birds are carved from lime wood and are carefully hand painted, they are mostly life size. He is said to be amongst one of the best wood carvers in the world.
He has always been fascinated by birds of prey and as a child he dreamt of owning one. His love for the outdoors and nature lead him to become a wildlife sculptor.
He is currently working on another study of a Gyrfalcon and he is open to commissions.
