This painting was completed in dedication to "Sudan" the last male Northern White Rhino who has since passed away. His expression reflecting his past filled with sadness, while the vibrant colors symbolize a sense of hope and strength for this ancient and endangered species. I use a unique style of painting with colored pencil and Gamsol. The Gamsol dilutes the pigment allowing me to paint with fluid colors. This piece is offered framed in a solid wood frame behind museum glass, and is truly a beautiful piece.
