Conservation

" Joanne is a Candian wildlife artist , spending much of her free time over the years in the great outdoors whether running, hiking , cycling or kayaking . Joanne has lived in remote communities in Ontario Alberta and Quebec. This has fostered a keen appreciation for nature and wildlife and a desire to explore the intricate landscape of her subject through color, texture and detail. Joanne has travelled across Canada coast to coast and marvels at the beauty and diversity of the scenery and wildlife which is subsequently expressed in her artistic practice.  Joannes wish is that the viewer will be captivated by the beauty of each animal and be inspired to seek out conseravation efforts that they can support.   "

My recent art is focussed on Bears , primarily the Black Bear although fascinated  by the Grizzly. The Black Bear is not considered endangered  at this point in time but  humans continue to encroach bit by bit ontheir habitat. I hope that greater awareness of the Black Bear will encourage support for  thriving bear  populations.

The Good Thing About ...Beluga Whales

This project has been spearheading by Living with Koalas which has focussed on primarily  supporting the Australian Koala . They are collaberating with 26 Canadian artists to assist with  conservation efforts for the Beluga through a Childrens rhyming book. Proceeds from theis project will both support the Koala and Beluga conservation efforts.
