One of my favorite places on earth is Bulgaria.  This past winter (2017) they received an extraordinary amount of snow.  My dear friend and fellow artist, Valentin Katrandzhiev was out walking in the park near his home and shot the reference photo of this momet, which I in turn painted in my studio.  Val and I often share reference material because we have much the same thought process when it comes to how we see the world.  It is with many thanks that I acknowledge his generosity in sharing the image with me.
