Low Tide
I am torn between the beauty and grace of the seagull along the Lake Michigan coastline, and their intrusiveness when it comes to wishing to snatch away my lunch. One time I was painting at Laguna Beach and glanced down to see a gull half inside of my granola bag happily snacking away. I decided to portray these excellent fishermen among the rocks and seashore searching for stunned fish caught up in the tide! This is a high key painting that really shines in a room that lacks natural light.
