“A Stolen Kill” rivals the hunt for food and is always a life and death situation in the animal kingdom. My intent is to express a scenario that happens all too often, even for an Apex predator.  Although at the top of the food chain, a lioness is no match for a pack of hungry and unruly hyenas. The scene depicts the loss of a meal in which the lioness had to retreat to a tree to escape the pack of hyenas who conquered the takeover of a fresh kill. The tables have turned on survival hierarchy.
