Conservation

"It seems to me that the natural world is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty; the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living.  -- Sir David Attenborough "

Although I live in the middle of the United States and do not travel to Africa, I feel drawn to African wildlife.  Although I do plan to travel to Africa one day, for now I am inspired by online resources and social media accounts.  I am very focused on African lions and have been building relationships with GG Conservation and The Kevin Richardson Foundation both in South Africa, The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado and the Denver Zoo. Another area of focus is the mountain gorilla and Dian Fossey's Gorilla Fund.  I  bought Dian's book in 1983 when I was 23 years old and I dreamed of being her. Her story has stuck with me for my entire life. I contribute the best way I can, now through my art and personal donations.  Any painting I sell will also include a contribution to a conservation entity.  I hope to build relationships with elephant nurseries and sanctuaries and paint african and asian elephants. A wide variety of wildlife will be painted eventually and several organizations supported.
