Grizzlies and Wolves are vital top predators in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Both species used to be wide spread around the country and have been wiped to extinction in most areas. The space around Yellowstone National Park is a strong hold for these species, but increased development in these areas has limited wild habitat and increased negative animal-human encounters, and hunting policies made by the three surrounding states (Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho) have placed these animals (especially wolves) in great danger. At the moment my specific efforts have been focused in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, espeically concerning wolves and bears. People have flocked to these areas with the desire to experience and live in an area of wild beauty, but our presence has put a great pressure on the original inhabitants of this region. Yellowstone is one of the only terrestrial in tact ecosystem in the US, and we need to make sure that we do not destroy what we love.
