Their recent history is heartbreaking; it is the story of losing their only home to bulldozing and burning to make ready for palm plantations and other agricultural plantations. Poaching, hunting, illegal logging inside protected areas and unsustainable logging in concessions where orangutans live remains a major threat to their survival.
