Sun-kissed
There is a conservation area in Ottawa I love to frequent. The few weeks around Mothers Day are a particularly good time to go when the migratory birds are in the area. It was a beautiful day, warm with a gentle breeze gently moving my hair. Walking along the ridge you could hear the warblers and red-winged blackbirds singing. A bright yellow bird flew in front of me and landed on a nearby tree. I watched quietly as it tilted its head back and began to sing. Its sweet song filled the air. I was grateful for this moment, a perfect spring day with beauty and a song. This painting is a memory of that wonderful outing.
