The kids and I walked along a slow moving river. The path was winding and the sun was warming up things quickly. It was mid summer and we had started our hike early as we knew the heat would be difficult by midday. Long grasses swayed with the breeze and we listened to the cicadas. As we neared a low bush we heard this beautiful song, "Tsip-tsip-tsip-zeeeee-serp". There on the edge we spotted the sparrow and I managed to take a few photos before it flew off. It had been hard to spot, the feather colours blending it so easily with the surroundings.
