Biography

Sophie Green is an award winning animal & wildlife Artist from the UK, who specialises in capturing the photorealistic details of animals and their surroundings. Sophie is self-taught and has spent the past 15 years honing her skills and building her portfolio, before embarking on a career as a full-time Artist. Since then, she has dedicated her time and artistic work to raising awareness for issues surrounding animal welfare and the environment.

 

Throughout her growing career as an animal Artist and since founding the online gallery and art store, Art Basket, Sophie has donated 10% of her profits to animal charities.

 

Sophie was the winner of the Leisure Painter People's Choice Award 2020 and was shortlisted for prizes such as the Sketch for Survival Invitational Award, VAO International Emerging Artist Prize and the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize.

Support for Conservation: 

Since the beginning of her career as a wildlife Artist, Sophie has donated 10% of her profits to animal and conservation charities. She regularly donates artwork to charity auctions, such as the Explorers Against Extinction Invitational Exhibition, as well as encouraging others to do the same. Sophie uses her social media platforms to educate and encourage others to make a difference and uses her art to raise awareness for certain issues. As a former primary school teacher, Sophie has also played a part in educating younger generations on the importance of conservation and protecting the environment.
