This is a loose study from my reference, of a Southern yellow-billed hornbill bird standing on a rock with an inquisitive look on his face. I included this bird in a larger painting with lions, for a commission.
The background is kept loose to keep attention on the subject. The oil painting is on canvas panel and is unframed for shipping.
