The illegal wildlife trade uses both wild and captive tigers to fuel the demand for their parts. There are reportedly only 4,500 tigers left in the wild today. There are more tigers in captivity around the world than in the wild, bred for entertainment and consumption. And because the wild tigers are so scarce and much harder to capture, criminals use cruel and unsanitary tiger farms as an easier source.
