Dos Hermanos (Two Brothers)
What I loved most about this moment was these two brothers with their legs entwined, making their way out of the tall grass. It was like the 'dance of the coyotes.' Coyotes and other predators are key to a healthy eco-system. This family lives in our neighborhood, and in this painting, these two adults are thin because they have twelve pups to feed. It's been a struggle for them to fulfill their parental responsibility and keep healthy themselves. Coyotes are increasing in urban settings because they adapt to human presence. I call them 'outside dogs.'
