Jeffrey Neel McDaniel
Art from the Coast of Texas and Elsewhere...
I believe art enriches and improves our lives.
My art is inspired by the natural beauty of the South Texas Coast and Texas Hill Country, especially around the Laguna Madre and the Frio River.
A long time native of Corpus Christi, I now reside near the Frio River with my wife, Jessica, amid an ever changing menagerie of animals. In addition to painting, I enjoy fishing, golfing, music, photography, birding, reading, and joking around with family and friends.
I also volunteer my services as the captain of the search and rescue boat, the “Laguna Mermaid”, for the Texas Sealife Center. When not engaging in these activities, I work as a Licensed Professional Counselor, specializing in trauma and crisis counseling.
Painting is a great stress reliever for me, but the urge to paint is driven by the marvel and mystery of the natural world around me. I express my wonder, curiosity, and gratitude through my art, and hope people feel a connection to nature when they view my paintings and sculpture.
