Besides the Alabama projects noted in my conservation statement, I am interested in the Black Jaguar Project in Brazil where they are reforesting on a grand scale to create the Araguaia Biodiversity Corridor to help local flora and fauna and the planet in general as well. On a smaller scale, my daughters and I recently visited the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge near Brownsville, Texas for a fundraiser benefitting their ocelots by creating safety corridors to mitigate highway deaths. I have pledged a painting for next year's event.
Conservation
""In wilderness is the preservation of the world." Henry David Thoreau--------
Protection of our parks and nature preserves has been a long term support project for me. My home state of Alabama is a very bio diverse place and I hope to keep it that way by joining others in support of the Alabama Wildlife Foundation and Forever Wild. I also support the University of Alabama's award winning program "Discovering Alabama" with environmentalist and educator, Doug Phillips, who teaches the public about our natural treasures.
