I love nature;  I live nature.  Every day I walk to my art studio through a forest of conifers 12" to 20" in diameter and up to 90' tall that I planted and maintain.  It attracts deer, bear, elk, bobcat, cougar, raccoons, other small mammals and a cornucopia of birds.  Deeper in the woods are the older myrtle tree remnants that are the main source of my wildlife art.  It is a simple formula; tree shapes and wood grain dictate the animals that emerge, which effectively combines two living elements of nature, the subject and the medium.  The nearby ocean and bays provide driftwood forms and my favorite subjects;  whales, seals and sea lions, eagles, herons, pelicans and salmon.  My conservation efforts are generally hands on and in my own backyard, such as stocking my creek with salmon smolts.  However, donating to conservation causes and creating work from field studies for raising species awareness is also part of my work.   This is who I am, this is what I do, I hope you enjoy these pages.
