Turtle Emerging
While canoeing in New Hampshire, I came across this photogenic turtle posing on a rock in the middle of a lake. He allowed me the honor of taking several shots perched on his sunny stoop, from which I could use to paint him. This acrylic painting is secured in a handmade wooden frame.
Framed acrylic painting dimensions are 7.5” x 9.5”.
Threats to the painted turtle include habitat loss, road mortality, pollution and possession and trade. In Vermont, I often see turtles attempting to cross roadways. Luckily, I often see a motorist stop to move the turtle to the side of the road.
