Shy Blue Jay
Last winter and spring I began to realize how important the sumac flowers were to the local bird population. They would use them as a perch and roost, as well as food. This shy young blue bird hid often behind flowers and branches as I took its picture to paint from. The neutrals of the background compliment the startling reds of the flowers.
The painting is encased in my signature live edge wooden frame. Framed oil painting dimensions are 10” x 13”.
