Lone Tree Vista
The subject of this piece overlooks the Ottauquechee river valley in Bridgewater, VT. What struck me most while painting this piece was the lone tree standing strong above the rest, with an impending storm brewing, as evidenced by the tumultuous clouds. This work reflects my feelings at the time - having left a secure job to face an uncertain future in art, relying almost solely on myself. It is not a path that most people willingly take, but it is the most beautiful struggle I have yet challenged myself with. This is both a unique painting, and a reminder of standing strong in the face of fear.
