Feline Serenity
Serene watercolor and colored pencil on watercolor paper of a lone mountain lion perched at the heights of a brilliant sunset. The peacefulness of the mountain lion's stature balances the startling pre-dusk colors.
Original framed piece measures 15" x 18 1/2".
Mountain Lions are now considered extinct in Vermont and the Northeastern US in general. There has been ongoing controversy surrounding their presence in Vermont for decades. It is still debatable that the few popping up here and there could be those that have been released or escaped from captivity, or western mountain lions that have wandered far off of their normal territory. This painting is in honor to those eastern mountain lions that once freely roamed and thrived in Vermont's rugged mountains.
